09/02/2010 School will be starting soon. I am sure the kids are looking forward to it.
Yes in Haiti kids do look forward to school. They know it is a privilege to be able to
go. We thank all the sponsors of the kids who make it possible for them to go. The
clinic is also busy seeing many people each day. Below are some recent pictures.

08/31/2010 We are hoping Earl decides to go north. So far there has just been lots
of rain in Haiti but today could get worse depending on the track of the storm. Haiti
does not need any more so please pray for Haiti and the people there for God's
mercy.

08/20/2010 With the roads in Haiti being what they are our transportation needs are
always great. We keep patching up the truck we have but it is a 1980 that has been
in need of major repairs. A truck is for sale that we are trying to buy. Dr. Acene has
put up $5,000 of his money and we will try raise $9,000 more to pay it off. If you
would be interested in helping with this purchase let us know.

08/17/2010 We are still busy every week speaking to various churches and groups
about Haiti and our mission. If you would like us to come and give a presentation
give us a call at 218-963-9412 or email Frank@HaitiMercyMission.com

08/01/2010 While I was in Haiti working at the clinic 2 guys came from a village to
the northeast of Pignon and asked if we could come and do a Mobil clinic as there
are about 20,000 people in the area with no medical care. I left it up to Dr Acene and
the clinic staff if they thought they could do it. They have informed us that they have
been up there 3 times now and have treated several hundred people. The need is so
great in Haiti right now we need your financial help to continue this ministry please
consider this in your prayers.

07/29/2010 We are so thankful for all of you who have helped to make the new clinic
a reality. There have been many hours of labor both by the Haitians and many of you
in getting the equipment and supplies for the clinic there. So far we have had over
500 people come for treatment. There have been 4 babies born so far. While I was
there we had several people come suffering with either Malaria or typhoid that had
they not gotten treatment would have died. The situation in Haiti is still dismal at best
but you have had a great impact helping the people of the Pignon area through your
gifts. Thank you from the Haiti Mercy Mission staff.

06/30/2010  I have just returned from Haiti. My brother Dick and I made it to Florida
with over 3000 pounds of supplies. I then flew with Missionary Flights International to
Pignon, Haiti. I thought Florida was hot while we were there and then I got to Haiti
Wow. I was very encouraged to see the progress made at the clinic since we left in
April. The clinic is open and seeing many people each day. You can click on the
Clinic button to see pictures. I also drove from Pignon to Port-Au-Prince and spent 2
days driving around there to see what is happening there. I am sorry to report that not
much is being done that I could find. The city is a disaster with most of the people
living in tent cities everywhere you look.

05/31/2010  We are getting ready to send a shipment to Haiti. My brother Dick and I
will be leaving June 12th to drive the load to Missionary Flights International in Fort
Pierce Fl and then will fly with them to Haiti. I will be there a couple weeks. PLease
pray with us for a safe trip and good weather. We are trying to get supplies to the
clinic because with the rainy season and hurricane season approching we need to
be stocked up.

05/14/2010  The Clinic is open and seeing patients. We are also fixing up the
buildings and getting ready to paint. The pictures below are not the best they were
taken with a phone-camera but you get the idea. Here is also a list of supplies we
are collecting:
Bottles of cold and cough medicine, Neosporin cream or
generic, Antifungal cream, latex gloves sizes large and XL, Bandaids all
sizes, 2X2 and 4X4 gause, Instant cold packs, Alcohol wipes, Betadine swab
sticks, Benedryl Tabs or liquid, Tylenol generic, Vitamins, Ibuprofen, Milk of
Magnesia, Imodium, Pepto Bismal, Twin sheets, Fleece blankets, Crutches,
Walkers, Otoscope, Ophthalmoscope

05/06/2010
We have been busy speaking various places about our time in Haiti this
year and our schedule is filling up. If you would like us to come and give a talk to your
church or civic group please give us a call at 218-963-9412 and we will make the
arrangements. We would love to come and share with you. Also we have a list of
items we need for the clinic. We need lab equipment as well as medical supplies I
will try to put a list here in a day or so. We are undertaking this clinic and trusting God
to supply the needs both in the needed supplies as well as the salaries of those we
need to hire to keep the clinic going. If you would like to be a part of this ministry
please let us know.

04/27/2010 We want to say thank you to several people and all of Hope Christian
Church of Shoreview, MN. On Sunday night the church sponsored a fund raiser for
Haiti Mercy Mission. The featured guest was none other than Minnesota legend
Garrison Keillor. What a great Job he did the entire sold out auditorium sat spell
bound as Garrison along with Bob Douglas and Bob's daughter Rachel entertained
in story and song. Many of the church people brought baked goods and a time of
snacks and coffee during the intermission gave us a chance to talk to many people
that are interested in Haiti. The Douglas family along with my sister Judie Ramsey,
Pastor Johnson and the church youth group out did themselves with this program.
We also were entertained by the "Tune Jerks" band. All we can say is thank you so
much to all of you.

04/19/2010 I have not posted for awhile as we have been busy catching up on things
left undone the last few months we were in Haiti. Today is an exciting day as the new
clinic opened today. We were sad to not be there for the opening as we worked hard
to get it open while there but Dr. Acene, Anne and Saisette had a dedication service
with people from the local community and started today. This is a stretch for our
mission but one that we think will serve the people of the area and also the many
refugees well. If you would be interested in helping us with this project please let us
know.

04/09/2010 At last we are home. We have had a long trip home. We left Pignon in
the back of a truck at 4:00 am got to Cap Haitian at about 8:30 then took a 5 hour
plane flight with MFI (Missionary Flights International) to Fort Pierce FL. We spent a
few days there as we visited some friends and relatives and also took care of some
mission business at MFI . We then drove to Orlando and flew to Minneapolis via
Chicago. We stayed one day with my Mom and my sister Leah who then drove us
home to Nisswa. When we arrived home our neighbors had our house ready with the
heat on and food in the refrigerator what a blessing. We want to thank all of you for
your kindness the contributions to Haiti Mercy Mission and most of all your prayers
through this time we were in Haiti. You have made a difference in the lives of many
suffering people there.

04/01/2010  We are getting ready to leave Haiti for this year. We look forward to
coming home to good food, hot showers and the quiet of home for some rest. We
will be traveling by truck to Cap Haitian and then flying to Florida with Missionary
Flights International. We will be in Florida for a few days then on to Minnesota. As we
are preparing to leave and saying goodby's in Haiti we had the second annual
soccer game with the Campbell's Haiti Home of Hope orphanage that is on the north
side of Pignon we are on the south side so it was north against south. Last year the
game ended in a 3 to 3 tie this year it was a 2 to 2 tie. This is not planned its just the
way the game turned out. After the game everyone had a coke, chips and cookies.
We then took them all swimming at the river.

03/24/2010  We continued painting today I tried to keep the painting crew to a
minimum but it didn't work I started with one helper and ended with about 15. Trying
to keep track of what everyone is doing is tough but we sure had fun and with all the
help we put lots of paint on the walls it actually looks good.

03/23/2010 Today we started to paint the outside of the new boys dorm the new
cement soaks up paint like a sponge the picture below is just the start of several
days of painting.

03/19/2010 We had lots of rain last night but decided to try to go to Labisenthe today
as they are working on the new church roof I thought. We made it there but I think we
took a few years off of Jeanette's life it was four wheel drive most of the way. I'm glad
Erik was driving he loves driving in the mud. When we got there we discovered they
decided to redo the entire church. we stayed until most of the sheet metal was on but
it started to rain again so we headed home. The roads were better on the way back
but we are glad to be home. The people are very excited to have a new and bigger
church we are going back on Sunday for church.

03/18/2010  It's been a few days but we are still here it is raining very hard tonight
along with thunder and lightning it is the first rain we have had in some time. We pray
for those in Port Au Prince if this rain is there as many are living in tents. We have a
pastor from South Caroline here this week. Tomorrow if the river is not too high Erik
and I are going to Labisenthe to work on a new roof for the church building. I will post
pictures if we can get there.

03/12/2010 We have gone from a cold snap to blistering hot in 2 days even the
Haitians are saying it's hot. We are closing in on finishing the boys dorm this has
been a long project from when we started with the kitchen and dining hall but the end
product looks good. We are putting a smooth finish on the floor so it can be mopped
then after a 2 week wait we can paint.

03/11/2010 Life in Pignon,Haiti is slowly returning to normal. Town is still full of
people from Port Au Prince and we are still caring for many refugees but the daily
routine of life is returning. I went to market on a scouting trip to see how the food
supply looks and found there to be an abundance of food. Lots of the food for sale at
market I am sure came from the many relief agency's as I found rice, beans and flour
for sale at stalls in the market that never sell those items. This hurts the local vendors
who normally carry those items as they are now competing at a disadvantage but I
am sure this will just be a short term thing. We have an abundance of new kids in our
schools as we are trying to admit any kids from Port so they can stay current with
their education. Today the boys started moving into the new dorm there is lots of
excitement. Jeanette is putting up new curtains on the windows I will try to post some
pictures tomorrow.

03/10/2010 Another busy day today! I left at 6:00 am to go to Hinche. I went with one
of our pastors who had a motorcycle accident. He needed parts for his motorcycle
and then Erik is going to fix it for him he called and they said they had the parts but
when we got there they didn't have them thats Haiti. We also bought electrical
supplies to finish the lights in the new boys dorm. It was market day in Hinche so we
also bought food. We got back home at about 1:30 and Jeanette had planned a
outing to take the littlest kids to the river swimming. We had a great time also had
some treats Coke cookies and chips. A fun time was had by all.

03/08/2010 We have had a busy few days we had visitors from Oregon that came to
visit our mission. We toured them around to our churches schools and the clinic. We
showed the Jesus film on Saturday night and then attended 3 church services on
Sunday Pastor Tami Firman spoke at two of them. Both she and Shelley Sohriakoff
talked to the students at our school today. We were blessed by their visit.

03/04/2010 We started making beds today up on the roof we also set up a make
shift tent where some of us are going to sleep as we have lots of visitors coming over
the next few weeks. Also moved the new tables to the dining hall. We have two ladies
from Oregon coming tomorrow for a short mission trip to see what we are doing here
we are looking forward to their visit.

03/03/2010 Today Erik and I went to Hinche in search of parts for the toyota we have
here. It is a constant effort to keep cars running in Haiti. The truck runs great but we
have no brakes. We found some used parts and bought some rebuild kits so Erik will
try to get some brakes. The picture below is Erik trying to tell the guy he wanted too
much for used parts. We did with the help of Dr. Acene get him down some and he
promised if the used parts didn't work he would refund our money but it is Haiti!!!

3/02/2010 Today we continued with the benches and tables by painting them. Want
to have some fun try painting with a bunch of little kids that move faster than a spider.
In the end they looked good. Work also continues on the boys dorm and work on the
new beds will start tomorrow. We got the wood and mattresses from Cap Haitian
today.

2/27/2010 A church in our home town of Nisswa MN donated money to build tables
for the kids dining hall. I decided to let some of the kids help. I try to keep it to two or
three at a time but as soon as they hear sawing and hammering a they all show up to
help. It takes longer but they are learning some skills and we are having fun.

2/26/2010 We went to Labisenthe the small church we have about 12 of 15 miles to
the north of Pignon. We went to distribute the disaster relief funds for that church. We
tried to go earlier but the river was to high to cross with the truck. While there we
showed the Jesus Film and had several hundred people attend. My favorite memory
will be a lady sitting right behind me who said in the middle of the film "wow Jesus
speaks Creole". We also have a loan Program there so we spent some time going
over the progress of the program. The church there had some storm damage to it
see the picture below. Someone has donated $1,000 to fix this roof. Thank you so
much for the donations to keep this work going.

2/25/2010 I think I have the web Site working again and have posted the February
and March Newsletters for those of you who read this site and are not on our mailing
list you can click on the News Letters tab above and read the current copies.

We are in Cap Haitian because MFI came here with our supplies and also to buy
supplies for the orphanage that we can't get in Pignon. It is a long and trying trip. We
stayed in a hotel that had a good Internet connection so I hope everything is working.
I will post more when we get back to Pignon.

2/18/2010 Today the water in the well started to clear up. It is so much better that we
quit hauling water from down the road. The kids were all a great help getting water
during this time, they do like the pay from Jeanette (a candy treat).

School is canceled again a rock slid down the hill in Cap Haitian and hit a school the
Haitians are all sure it was another earthquake so the government is trying to decide
if they should cancel school for the rest of the year. We pray this does not happen. If it
does we will hire teachers to come to the house to keep our kids in school. The
Haitian schools are poor at best and they do not need this.

2/15/2010 I apologize I am having problems with my web site so if you click on a
picture to enlarge it does not work. Not sure why. With our slow Internet and lack of
Internet it is hard to get it fixed but I will keep trying. We are having a great response
of people interested in the clinic so I will keep you updated on it's progress. Today
Jeanette was at a school near the clinic and gave some hygiene classes she said
the kids were very attentive. Marianne taught here English classes and Erik and I
worked on projects around the orphanage since the earthquake our well has not
functioned properly it has become very cloudy with sand and silt. We may have to
drill a new one. We have changed the pipe and varied the level of the foot valve 4
times but it has not helped.
